World Environment Day observed at Kaziranga

Along with the other places of the world, World  Environment Day (WED) is also observed at Kaziranga organized by Assam Forest Department in presence of the Forest Officials Jitendra Kumar (ACF), Mukul Tamuli (Range Officer), Dilip Das, Rupak Bhuyan, Rima Gogoi and the teachers of the local schools and the local people. The Forest Department also organized a drawing competition between the students of the schools nearby Kaziranga. They also distributed seedling between the students.

World Environment Day is observed on June 5 every year for preserving the biodiversity. It was first celebrated in 1973, World Environment Day which is also popularly known as Environment Day, means to tackle environmental challenges that include climatic changes, global warming, disasters and conflicts, harmful substances, environmental governance, ecosystem management and resource efficiency. Every year, World Environment Day is observed in different cities with different theme on June 5. A World Environment Day theme is selected along with an Environment Day slogan, which aims to emphasize the importance of the protection of planet and to promote and to understand that, they each individually can play a significant and effective role in tackling environmental issues.
