Tiger found dead in Bandipur

The Hindu, Mysuru, 8th March, 2015

A tiger was found dead in Bandipur Tiger Reserve on Friday. The carcass was discovered at Bolgudda near the safari route about 1.5 km from the main reception centre. Examination of the carcass indicated that the death was due to injuries caused by a territorial fight with another tiger.

The tiger was about six to seven years old, and there were 10 wounds, one of which had penetrated inches-deep into its neck. There were wounds on the legs as well.

Source in the Forest Department said another male tiger with injuries on its body was found panting for breath and resting in the same area
