More tigers in Maharashtra

There has been a significant rise in tiger population in Maharshtra, the Assembly was informed. "Thanks to increased vigilance, there has been a significant rise in the population of tigers in the Pench and Tadoba Tiger Projects," Governor C Vidyasagar Rao said in his address to the Legislature as the Budget session got under way. "It is proposed to create Special Tiger Protection Force in Melghat and Navegaon- Nagzira Tiger Reserve on the same lines,' he said.
