Wildlife census in tiger reserve

The Wildlife census at Sathyamanagalam Tiger Reserve will be conducted next year. The last census was conducted in February 2012. Deputy Director of the Forest Reserve CH Padma told reporters that as per the previous census, there are 1,100 elephants,56tigers in the forest.She said a proposal was sent to the Tamil Nadu government for the overall development of the STR at a cost of 2.20 crore.
