4 tried to sell leopard skin in Ghaziabad, held

 The pelt of a leopard with it teeth and claws intact was seized and four person we arrested by Ghaziabad police on Tuesday. Acting on a tip off, police conducted a raid near Vaishali Sector 2 and caught the accused as they were trying to strike a deal for the pelt.


"When we searched the bag we found about four-and-half feet of leopard skin" DSP Atul Yadav said.


The four accused Neel Chauhan, Abhishek, Subham Sarkar and Ashish-are in their early twenties and live in Noida, police said. They have been booked under different sections of Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and have been sent to police custody.

Such a leopard pelt can fetch about Rs 6 lakh in the black market.
