MM Hills to be K'taka's sixth tiger reserve

With over 20 big cats, the Male Mahadeshwara Wildlife Sanctuary (MMWS) is likely to be declared a tiger reserve soon, Reports Lakshmikantha BK. Once the National Tiger Conservation Authority approves the state's proposal, MMWS will be the sixth tiger reserve after Bandipur, BRT, Nagarahole, Bhadra and Dandeli. Spread over 90,618 hectares, MM Hills was declared a sanctuary in 2013.
