Leopard killed skinnned in Kulgam

Amid Covid lockdown, a heart-wrenching incident of a leopard being skinned has sparked anger in J&K.


The incident took place in south Kashmir Kulgam district on Thursday and the police have registered a case and started identifying  the people involved in skinning  the leopard after it was allegedly beaten to death. On Friday, a nearly one-minute video surfaced on social media showing the dead leopard being skinned  in broad daylight.


Local said the leopard appeared in Khudhanjipora Noorabad and injured eight people before it was killed in retaliation.


The mob killed the leopard reportedly in retaliation after the animal attacked and injured eight person in the village, Rashid Naqash, Kashmir Regional Wildlife Warden, said Strict action would follow in the case, he added.
