Convention of Biological Diversity
Convention of biological diversity came into force on 29th December 1993 and informally known as Biological diversity. It is a multilateral treaty that develops the national strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity. It has three main objectives:
- (a) The conservation of Biological diversity
- (b) The sustainable use of the components of biological diversity
- (c) The fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources.
