Convention of Biological Diversity

Convention of biological diversity came into force on 29^th December 1993 and informally known as Biological diversity. It is a multilateral treaty that develops the national strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity. It has three main objectives:

(a) The conservation of Biological diversity
(b) The sustainable use of the components of biological diversity
(c) The fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources.
